「城鄉之間」這件作品記錄著新北市新店區一個鄉村的現況，這個鄉村正被都市郊區所包圍吞沒。而現今台灣社會的生活方式、身份認同和觀念只求一片共享的空間而不再嘗試與之共生共存，最終，在經過衝突碰撞後，還來不及留下任何聲響，生活就這樣靜靜地轉移他處，在別處持續下去。




█ 關於藝術家

Chris van Laak （1986年生於德國），攝影師和混合媒材藝術家，主要從事紀實攝影，在「忠實的新聞報導」和「集體或個人的虛構敘述產製」之間，他進行深入探究。

他的作品於2018年和2019年在韓國Suwon國際攝影節展出，2016年在印度迪馬普爾和曼谷舉行個展。以記者身份，他為台灣新聞平台《報導者》和西班牙報紙《El Pais》提供合作報導。

“城鄉之間 - The Tale of the Village and the City” presents the account of a rural village in New Taipei’s Xindian District which is in the process of being swallowed by the city’s suburbs. Beings, lifestyles, identities and conceptions of contemporary Taiwan claim a shared space for a while without ever being able to coexist, and eventually collide without a bang before life moves on elsewhere.


█ About artist

Chris van Laak (b. 1986, Germany) is a photographer and mixed media artist. His work is based in documentary photography and he explores the non-fake-news middleground between a true to reality journalistic approach and collective and individual fictional accounts of manufacturing reality.

His works have been exhibited at Suwon International Photo Festivel (Korea) in 2018 and 2019, and in solo exhibitions in Dimapur (India) and in Bangkok, both in 2016. As a journalist he works with twreporter (報導者, Taiwan) and El Pais (Spain).
